In API 20NE system, positive reactions are obtained for glucose fermentation and gelatinase; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, and cytochrome oxidase. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not utilized as sole carbon sources.
