Description of Motilimonas cestriensis HMG 3259
Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are cream colored after incubation for 2 days on MA at 25°C. In the API 20NE system, positive for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, and gelatin hydrolysis; but negative for indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, and cytochrome oxidase. D-Glucose, D-mannose, and malic acid are utilized as sole carbon sources; while L-arabinose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not. Strain HMG3259 (= NIBRBAC000509546) was isolated from a soil sample at Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea.
