Trite lineata Simon, 1885: 92 View in CoL (Male holotype from Nouméa, New Caledonia, MCZ 21853, and female allotype from Yahoué, New Caledonia, 0–100 m, December 1986, N.L.H. Krauss, AMNH, examined); Berry et al. 1997: 132; Platnick 2014.
Additional material examined. NEW CALEDONIA: 1F, Rivière Bleue, 160 m, 22°06′13″S, 166°39′16″E, 6 March 1987, A. & S. Tillier, Forêt humide/alluvions [rainforest] ( MNHN); 1F, Rivière Bleue P6, Forêt dense [rainforest], Fogging, 21 October 1992, J. Chazeau, É. Guilbert, Bonnet de Larbogne ( MNHN).
Diagnosis. In comparison with the most similar T. pennata and T. planiceps , it can be distinguished by the longer embolus, longer RTA, and the shape of tegulum ( Figs 8–9 View FIGURES 6 – 11 ). Epigyne with distinct posterior pocket ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ), copulatory ducts shorter than in previous species ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 6 – 11 ), but slightly longer than in T. simoni . From T. planiceps , it differs also by the smaller size.
