Genus Sesir Stock, 1967

Diagnosis. Female body elongate, cylindrical; 4 pedigerous somites discernible by weak constrictions: second tofourth pedigeroussomites forming brood pouch. Freeurosome cylindrical, unsegmented. Caudalramus armedwith 6 setae. Antennule 8-segmented. Antenna 4-segmented; comprising coxa, basis and 2-segmented endopod; exopod absent. Mandible with 1 setaon basis; 5 setaeon exopod, endopod 2-segmented, armedwith 4 and 9 setae on first and second segments, respectively. Maxillule with 6 setae on arthrite; coxal endite and epipodite absent; basiswith 1 seta mediodistally; exopod and endopod lobate and not articulated from basis, each armed with 3 setae distally. Maxilla 5-segmented; syncoxa with 5 setae, basiswith 2 setae; endopodwith 1, 1, and 3 setae on first to third segments, respectively. Maxilliped unsegmented, armed with 8 medial and 2 apical setae. Legs 1–3 with 3-segmented rami, leg 4 with 3-segmented exopod and 2-segmented endopod. Legs 1–4 lacking inner coxal seta. Outer seta on basis absent in leg 4. Basis, exopods and endopods heavily ornamented with rows of spinules. Armature formula for legs 1–4 as follows:

Leg 5 consistingof unarmed protopod fusedto somite plus free exopodal segment with 1 distal seta.

Type species: Sesir parvipes Stock, 1967 , by original designation.

Remarks. This genus is monotypic. The typespecies is redescribed below based on the study of new material.
