Symmathetes Schoenherr, 1847 View in CoL
Symmathetes Schoenherr, 1847: 31 View in CoL , type species S. kollari Schoenherr, 1847 View in CoL , has been considered a synonym of Pantomorus Schoenherr, 1840 View in CoL in most catalogs, and it was revalidated by Morrone (1999) and considered valid by Lanteri et al. (2002). This genus is endemic to Brazil and includes several undescribed species. Its main diagnostic character is the expanded (usually indented) metatibial apex, with a broad, squamose corbel. According to Morrone (1999) this genus includes two species S. kollari View in CoL and S. setulosus Hustache. The View in CoL latter shows the typical character of the genus but the metatibial apex is not indented.
