Tyrictaca cymbalistis ( Meyrick, 1926)

“ Tinthia cymbalistis , n. sp. ” — Meyrick 1926: 268. Type locality: “ Bihar, Pusa, ...” [= India: Bihar, Samastipur district , Pusa] .

Syntypes 10 ♂ ♀ ( BMNH) .

Flight period. The specimens of the type series were emerged from pupae in May–July.

Host plant. Larvae live inside twigs of Ficus religiosa L. and in aerial roots of F. benghalensis L. ( Moraceae ) ( Meyrick 1926; Fletcher 1933). Robinson et al. (1994) noted Murraya koenigii (L.) Spreng. ( Rutaceae ) as a host plant of the species. This indication, in my opinion, requires careful verification.

Distribution. It is known from the state of Bihar, East India. An indication of the finding of this species in Thailand ( Robinson et al. 1994) requires confirmation.

Remarks. Both male and female genitalia have yet to be investigated.
