Distribution. West Palaearctic (excluding north) ( Meregalli & Fremuth 2013).
Material examined. Literature data only.
Biology. Host plants in Europe are not yet documented; in Morocco and Israel C. excoriatus was observed on Emex spp. ( Polygonaceae ) ( Scott & Shivas 1990) that suggests it could be found in Ukraine on Polygonaceae .
Notes. Recorded from ‘Podolia’ ( Hildt 1893: 220).
