Distribution. Palaearctic (excluding north) ( Ter-Minasian 1967; Gültekin & Fremuth 2013).

Material examined. 131 specimens ( ZIN, SIZK, KUMN, ZMUN, ZMUM, IMC, YKC) from 13 provinces were studied including Mykolaiv Prov. : 1 spec. (photo observation, UkrBIN ID 49988) Mykolaiv City, N47.040056, E32.028750, observed by R. Stepoviy, 28.vi.2016; Sumy Prov. GoogleMaps : 1 spec. (photo observation, UkrBIN ID 57388) Lebedyn Distr, Vorozhba, N50.704522, E34.674294, observed by N. Sutschak, 26.vii.2017.

Biology. Primary steppes, coastal and ruderal habitats. Adults occur in V–VIII. Oligophagous on Echinops spp. ( Asteraceae ) ( Volovnik 1996a; Skuhrovec et al., 2017).
