Distribution. Boreal and nemoral zones of Europe; introduced to Canada ( Brown 1950)

Biology. Grasslands in scattered mixed forests. The species is represented in Ukraine by parthenogenetic populations only; bisexual population is known from France ( Hoffmann, 1954). Imago nocturnal, occur in VI–VII. Polyphagous on herbs ( Rosaceae , Asteraceae , Fabaceae , Violaceae , Primulaceae ), occasionally on various crops.
