Distribution. Europe (excluding north) ( Alonso-Zarazaga 2013)
Material examined. Ivano-Frankivsk Prov.: 1 ex. ( ZIN) near Yaremcha, Fagus forest, V. O. Chumak leg., 29.viii.2001 ; Zakarpatska Prov.: 1 ex ( ZIN) Velikyi Bereznyi Distr. , Stavnoje, upper margine of forest belt, on Galium odoratum, Bogdanov leg., 5.viii.1979 ; 1 spec. ( ZIN) Tiachiv Distr. , near Velyka Uholka, karst in beech forest, N. Yunakov leg., 19.vii.2001 ;
Biology. Beech forests; in leaf litter. Adults occur in VII–VIII. In lab trials beetles feed on the bark of Acer platanoides (Sapindaceae) and decaying leaves of Fagus sylvatica (Fagaceae) ( Dieckmann 1987).
