Distribution. Palearctic, Oriental regions.
Diagnosis. Pygofer without ventral process; style with apophysis long, bifurcated apically; aedeagus with pair of apical processes often asymmetrical and unpaired ventral process well separated from shaft; gonopore situated subapical at ventral surface.
Notes. Up to the present, 13 species have been described from Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Nepal and India (Dworakowska 1970b, 1976, 1977; Dworakowska & Viraktamath 1978; Sohi & Mann 1992). In Japan, two species are known: A. akazu (Matsumura, 1932) and A. ciconia Dworakowska, 1976 . Here the morphological characters of male specimens of A. akazu are described and illustrated for the first time.
