Etymology. This species is dedicated to Dr. L. O. Howard, head of the Bureau of Entomology in the United States Department of Agriculture ( Neiva 1911d: 240).

Original citation. “Die Art ist Dr. L. O. Howard, chef des entomologischen Bureaus des Department of Agricukture der Ver. Staaten gewidmet” ( Neiva 1911d: 240).
