Species. T. deaneorum Galvão, Rocha, Jurberg and Carcavallo View in CoL

Synonym of T. deanei Galvão, Souza & Lima

Etymology. In the original description, the authors’ intention was to pay homage to our fellow countrymen and parasitologists, Leônidas de Mello Deane and Maria Paumgarten Deane; however, in so naming the species, it did not follow the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN), according to which, group names for species based on modern personal names of more than one man or of many men and one or more women together should end in orum. According to articles 32 and 33 of the ICZN, the correct way of writing the name therefore becomes Triatoma deaneorum (Galvão, Rocha, Jurberg & Cacavallo 2001: 588) .

Original citation.
