Species. B. pittieri Osuna and Ayala View in CoL

Etymology. During frequent collections of entomological material performed by our colleague José M. Ayala in the Henri Pittier National Park, a triatominae specimen of singular appearance because of its small size and black and yellow colors was caught. After detailed observations, it proved to be a new species: the second Triatominae species in this country, Venezuela ( Osuna & Ayala 1993: 147).

Original citation.
