This species has been recorded from North and Central America, the West Indies, and northern South America. Here, it is recorded for the first time from Bolivia. Floyd (1995) provided sufficient evidence to support that O. inconspicua is a complex of species. The adults are very similar and difficult to distinguish, but the larvae are morphologically distinct. The differences between this species and O. excisa View in CoL have been discussed above.
