Diagnosis: A family of Louwoichthyiformes distinguished from other members of this clade by the following combination of features: presence of four supraorbitals; single suborbital, as deep as dermosphenotic; teeth on both jaws prominently long, pointed and slightly curved (*); and premaxillae small, each bearing only one or two marginal teeth (*).
