Record as epibiont on cnidarians: This species was found as epibiont on hydroids Obelia commissuralis and O. geniculata from Woods Hole, USA ( Root 1922). The species was reported on Conothyraea loveni collected in Kiel Bay of the North Sea ( Precht 1935). This species was observed as epibiont on hydroids Perigonimus megas Kinne, 1956 from the Sea of Azov near Mariupol and on Cordylophora caspia from estuary of Bug River, Nikolaev, the Black Sea, Ukraine ( Dovgal 2013).
Record as epibiont on other hosts/substrata: Acineta tuberosa is one of the most distributed suctorian species, found in the Mediterranean, Black, Azov, North, Caspian, White, Caribbean Seas, Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans ( Dovgal 2013), registered on variety of host taxa and substrates. For example, the species was found on isopods: Asellus aquaticus (Linnaeus, 1758) , Idotea balthica (Pallas, 1772) (as I. tricuspidata ); Microcerberus remyi Chappuis, 1953 , Sphaeroma serratum (J. C. Fabricius, 1787) , Idotea sp. ; Asellus sp. , Microcerberus sp. ; on amphipods: Gammarus locusta (Linnaeus, 1758) ; Gammarus pulex (Linnaeus, 1758) , Gammarus sp. ; on cladocerans: Cercopagis pengoi (Ostroumov, 1891) ; on decapods: Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823 , Brachinotus sexdentatus Risso, 1827 , Cambarellus patzcuarensis Villalobos, 1943 , Carcinus mediterranneus Czerniavsky, 1884 , Dardanus arrosor (Herbst, 1796) , Goneplax rhomboids (Linnaeus,1758) , Liocarcinus depurator (Linnaeus, 1758) , L. vernalis (Risso, 1827) , Macropipus holstatus (Fabricius, 1798) , Palaemon elegans Rathke, 1837 , Pagurus excavates (Herbst, 1791) , Paguristes oculatus (Fabricius, 1775) , Pagurus prideaux Leach, 1815 ; on mollusc: Mytilus galloprovincialis Lamarck, 1819 ; on algae Ceramium sp. and Ulva sp. , and on various algae and inanimate substrates ( Matthes & Guhl 1973; Bierhof & Roos 1977; Radhakrishna 1984; Curds 1985; Cook et al. 1998; Mayen- Estrada & Aladro-Lubel 1998; Fernandez-Leborans & Tato-Porto 2000b; Fernandez-Leborans 2003; Kalavati & Raman 2008; Dovgal 2013; Chatterjee et al. 2013b, 2020c).
