Record as epibiont on cnidarias: This species found as epibiont on the jellyfish Pelagia noctiluca (Forsskål, 1775) collected from Villefranche-sur-Mer, France ( Flood et al. 2016).
Record as epibiont on other hosts: Entz (1884) originally described this species from the Mediterranean Sea near Napoli on salp Thalia democratica (Forskål, 1775) . Calkins (1902) reported its presence on the branchial bars of the ascidian Molgula manhattensis (De Kay, 1843) from the western Atlantic Ocean near Falmouth (Woods Hole). Collin (1912) reported this species in the Mediterranean Sea near Sète ( France) as epibiont on T. democratica and Salpa fusiformis Cuvier, 1804 . Tregouboff (1916) observed this on Pyrosoma elegans Lesueur, 1813 from Villefranche-sur-Mer ( France).
