Record as epibiont on cnidarians: The species was found on suctorian Ephelota coronata Kent, 1881 in turn inhabits the hydroids Obelia commissuralis McCrady, 1859 and O. geniculata (Linnaeus, 1758) from Woods Hole, USA ( Root 1922).
Remarks: Other finds of the species are unknown. It is Jankowski’s (2007) opinion that the name Acinetopsis tentaculata is a junior synonym of A. rara .
