Habit and habitat. Scattered on fallen logs in evergreen tropical forest.
Identification. This species can be identified by a small depressed pileus with greyish tones, whitish lamellae, a dark stipe, and ellipsoid spores of 6–9 × 3–5 µm. Our material agrees with the description provided by Pegler (1983). Gerronema cyathiforme (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) is a similar species but differs from G. bryogeton by having a reddish to olivaceous brown stipe ( Pegler 1983).
