Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 1–8 ) wingspan 14.0–16.0 mm. Calamotropha brevistrigella is diagnosed by the forewing with a large black stripe at about middle of the medial fascia and ocherous between the medial and subterminal fasciae, in the male genitalia by the distally narrowed and bilobed valva with two apical spines ( Fig. 33 View FIGURES 29–33 ), in the female genitalia by the posteriorly widened and anteriorly narrowed antrum widest at posterior 2/5, and the ductus seminalis arising from near the anterior end of the antrum ( Fig. 55 View FIGURES 51–55 ). Calamotropha brevistrigella is closely allied to C. brevilinella (South, 1901) superficially, and the differences between them are stated in the diagnoses of the latter species.

Distribution. China (Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Zhejiang), Japan.
