Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–8 ) wingspan 19.5–22.5 mm. Calamotropha abrupta is diagnosed by the subterminal fascia of the forewing with a row of brown dots on posterior 3/4, and the ovate black apical spot with white margin triangularly produced toward dorsum; in the male genitalia by the uncus bifurcated distally, the valva truncate at apex, and the vesica with a row of differently sized spine-like cornuti ( Li & Li 2012: Fig. 2B View FIGURES 1–8 ). This species is surperficially similar to C. melli ( Caradja & Meyrick, 1933) . It can be distinguished by the forewing pale brown mixed with orange yellow; in C. melli , the forewing with anterior 1/3 yellowish brown and posterior 2/3 white except distal 1/6 mixed with orange yellow scales.
