Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 24–28 ) wingspan 15.0–16.0 mm. This species is diagnosed by the white forewing with several brown stripes along distal half of the costal margin, with an indistinct brown fascia from before the dark brown apical streak to the dorsum and parallel to the subterminal fascia, and a narrowly banded black terminal margin; in the male genitalia by the valva with one elongate dorsoapical spine, and the absence of a cornutus ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 46–50 ); and in the female genitalia by the subquadrate lamella postvaginalis ( Figs 66, 66a View FIGURES 65–69 ). Calamotropha punctivenella is similar to C. melanosticta ( Hampson, 1896) in the forewing pattern, and the differences between them are stated in the diagnoses of the latter species.

Distribution. China (Hainan), Sri Lanka.

Note. This species is newly recorded for China.
