Copriphis (Pelethiphis) undulatus Berlese

Copriphis (Pelethiphis) undulatus Berlese, 1921: 172 ; Castagnoli & Pegazzano, 1985: 428.

Pelethiphis undulatus .— Shoemake, 1970: 156.

Remarks. There is only one specimen of this species in the Berlese Acaroteca, on slide number 196/33, labelled "tipico". It contains a poor quality female specimen from Germany. The length of the specimen is 458 µm. It has an unpaired J seta between dorsal setae J2 and J5, suggesting that this species is similar to Alliphis siculus ; both were collected from the same beetle host, Scarabaeus semipunctatus . The only obvious difference between these species seems to be the length of the central dorsal shield setae (for example length of J2 is 32 µm in undulatus , while 22 µm in siculus ).
