Apanteles adelinamoralesae Fernández-Triana, 2014 species-group

Comments. This group is supported by morphological, molecular and biological characters, and is likely a natural group ( Fernández-Triana et al. 2014). The group was proposed based entirely on new species from Costa Rica and is the second in number of described species. With the inclusion of three new species, the group now comprises 22 valid species ( Table 1 View TABLE 1 ).

Diagnosis. Body mostly dark, including at least metafemur and part of mesofemur; tegula yellow-white and humeral complex half yellow-white and half dark brown; pterostigma and most veins white or translucent; ovipositor sheaths usually>1.2 × metatibia length; mediotergite 2 width at posterior margin at least 2.9 × its median length.

Biology. Species are either gregarious or solitary. All known species are parasitoids of Stenomatinae (Depressariidae) , with only one exception ( Table 1 View TABLE 1 ). Originally, Fernández-Triana et al. (2014) had recorded two species ( Apanteles yolandarojasae and A. luiscanalesi ) as parasitizing Pyralidae , but the records for A. yolandarojasae have now been amended to also be Depressariidae 1 and thus, there is currently only a single record of Pyralidae , an undetermined species in the genus Macalla Walker , as host for A. luiscanalesi 2.

Distribution. Neotropical: Brazil and Costa Rica.
