Etymology:—The specific epithet “ pakistanicus ” (Latin) refers to Pakistan, the country which is the type locality.
Diagnosis:—Pileus creamy white, glutinous, centrally depressed. Stipe without annulus, creamy white. Basidiospores 5.4–7.8 × 4.3–6.4 μm, broadly ellipsoid to obovoid. Pileipellis an ixo-trichoderm, terminal cells subcylindrical to lageniform.
Holotype:— PAKISTAN. Punjab province, Pabbi Forest Park, (32°49′53.20″ N, 73°50′14.43″ E, 286 m asl) on soil and leaf litter under Acacia modesta , 11August 2016, Muhammad Usman & Abdul Nasir Khalid MU32 ( LAH35337 About LAH ). GenBank MN240869 ( ITS) and MN240881 ( LSU). GoogleMaps
Description:— Basidiomata medium-sized. Pileus 33–42 mm diam, applanate with depressed center, viscid, creamy white (7.5YR5/12), thick and fleshy; surface smooth without squamules; margin even to slightly serrate. Lamellae free, creamy white to light pink (25YR5/12), regular, adnate, crowded; edges wavy, thick, concolorous with faces; lamellulae abundant 1–2 tiers, crowded near pileus margin, wavy. Stipe centrally attached, subcylindrical, 19–45 × 5–10 mm, smooth, viscid, creamy white (7.5YR5/12), firmly attached to pileus. Annulus and volva absent. Odor and taste not recorded.
Basidiospores [80/4/4] (4.9) 5.4–7.8 (8.5) × (3) 4.3–6.4 (6.9) μm, Q= (1.01) 1.2–1.5 (1.8), Q av = 1.32, broadly ellipsoid to obovoid, thin-walled, inamyloid, light yellowish green spores (25YR8/1), guttulate; apiculus present. Basidia 26–35 × 7–10 μm, narrowly clavate to clavate with basal clamp-connection, granular; sterigmata up to 4μm long. Cystidia absent. Pileipellis an ixo-trichoderm with subcylindrical and narrowly lageniform to lageniform terminal cells 34–50 × 4–12 μm, smooth, often with clamp-connections. Stipitipellis hyphae hyaline, 2.5–8 μm wide, smooth, regular, septate, clamp-connections present.
Habit, habitat and distribution:—Terrestrial, solitary, present on moist soil rich in leaf litter under Acacia modesta , basidiomata collected during monsoon season.
