Diagnosis. Arista with 1 or 2 minute, dorsal branches basally (ch.5-1) and apical, leaf-like expansion roundish and irregularly serrated on apical margin; setulae just before prescutellar acrostichal setae somewhat longer than other acrostichal setulae (ch.15-1); pregonite slightly concave on dorsosubapical margin of apical knob (ch.48-1), strongly curved ventrad distally (“ Fig. 3D View FIGURE 3 ” in Chen et al. 2005a); anterior, sclerotized postgonite on right lateral lobe of aedeagal sheath not bifurcated (“ Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3 ” in Chen et al. 2005a); posterior postgonites both strongly sclerotized and apically pointed (“ Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3 ” in Chen et al. 2005a).
Supplementary description (not repeating characters common to P. foliisetoides ). Supracervical setae 8–9. Dorsomedial, tentorial apodeme 1/2 as long as basal, parallel portion of dorsolateral, tentorial apodeme. Cibarial, medial sensilla 7–8 per side; posterior sensilla approximately 5 per side. Anterior postgonite on left lateral lobe of aedeagal sheath broadest, located subapically.
Specimens examined. China: 1♂ paratype, Menglun, Xishuangbanna , Yunnan, 940 m a.s.l., 25.xii.2003, S.- Y. Wen and H.-W. Chen leg. ( SEHU) . Bänziger leg. ( SEHU) .
Distribution. China (Yunnan), Thailand *.
Remarks. This species is closely related to P. foliisetoides and P. sagittaristula ( Cao et al. 2011; An et al. 2015), but can be distinguished from them by the diagnostic characters.
