This species is hitherto known only from its type locality Bebek ( Hoffman & Lohmander 1964) and Kilyos at Istanbul ( Strasser 1975), both situated in the European part of Turkey. The new material also comes from the surroundings of Istanbul and adds nothing significant to the species’ distribution. Jawlowski’s (1938) record of “ D. degenerans subsp.” from Bujükdere, European Turkey, most likely belongs to this species or D. helenae View in CoL sp.n., but not to the true degenerans .
