Hymenoepimecis neotropica ( Brues & Richardson, 1913)

Diagnosis. This species can be distinguished from all other Hymenoepimecis by the combination of the following characters: 1) fore wing hyaline yellowish, with two blackish bands; 2) pronotum orange, with black anterior part; 3) metasoma orange, with black apex; 4) female with tarsal claw with preapical tooth; 5) ovipositor 1.5 × as long as hind tibia.

Male. Unknown.

Distribution. Brazil (Amazonas, São Paulo) (Fig. 58); Guyana ( Brues & Richardson 1913).

Note. Its occurrence in Brazil was registered only for the southeast region (São Paulo) ( Sobczak et al. 2012).

Biological notes. Parasitoid of Araneus omnicolor (Keyserling, 1893) ( Araneae : Araneidae ) ( Sobczak et al. 2012).

Material examined. BRAZIL. Amazonas: Manaus, Reserva Ducke, AM 10, Km 26, 02°55’51”S / 59°58’29”W, 12.iii.2003, Manual collection (S.B. Fáveri), 1 female, INPA.
