Promalactis grandilobata Wang , sp. nov.

( Figs 12 View FIGURES 11–16 , 27 View FIGURES 27–31 )

Type material. CHINA, GoogleMaps Guangdong Province: Holotype ♂, Mt. Dadong   GoogleMaps (24.77°N, 112.68°E), Lianzhou, 650 m, 22.VI.2004, coll. Dandan Zhang, slide No. DZH12117.

Diagnosis. This new species is similar to P. lobatifera Wang, Kendrick et Sterling, 2009 . It can be distingushed in the male genitalia by the costal process extending to middle of the costa, and the juxta widened at basal 2/3 and lacking lateral lobes; in P. lobatifera the costal process extends to the end of the costa, and the juxta is almost equal in width and bears lateral lobes.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 11–16 ) wingspan 8.5 mm. Head with vertex creamy white, frons dark brown, occiput brown mixed with white. Labial palpus with first and second segments dark brown except white at apex of second segment; third segment black except white from basal 1/4 to 1/2 and at apex, approximately 2/3 length of second segment, pointed at apex. Antenna with scape white, pecten dark brown; flagellum dark brown on ventral surface, white and black on dorsal surface. Thorax and tegula black mixed with white. Forewing ground color golden yellow, with blackish brown ranging from base to antemedian fascia along costal margin, forming a wide illdefined streak, with blackish brown scales along base of dorsum, forming a short stripe; with two wide black fasciae mottled white scales: antemedian fascia from basal 1/4 of costal margin straight to dorsum, its outer margin edged with sparse white scales; postmedian fascia wider, from distal 2/5 of costal margin straight to end of fold, widened anteriorly, narrowed to posterior 1/4, posterior 1/4 equally wide; distal patch slightly widened at apex, narrowed along termen to meet postmedian fascia, with a white dot before apex; cilia with basal half white mixed with black, distal half golden yellow. Hindwing and cilia grey. Foreleg black, tibia with a white spot at base dorsally, with a tuft of white scales at apex, tarsus white dorsally; midleg grey ventrally, black dorsally, tibia with a white spot dorsally, with a tuft of white scales; hindleg grey; all tarsi white at apex of each tarsomere.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 27–31 ). Uncus broad and short, trapezoidal, folded laterally to form a sclerotized edge with setae; apex concave in broad V shape, produced to spine-like process posterolatrally. Gnathos as large as uncus, X shaped, concave at both middle of apex and lateral margin, produced lateroapically. Tegumen with each branch elongate triangular, rounded apically. Valva with basal half wide and subparallel, distal half slightly narrower, with dense setae in distal 1/3; apex obliquely truncate, dorsoapically produced triangularly; costa with a large ovate process arising from base, reaching middle of costa apically. Sacculus broad basally, narrowed and fused with valva distally, with dense setae. Saccus broad triangular, as long as uncus, narrowly rounded apically. Juxta weakly sclerotized, basal 3/5 narrow and parallel, widened from 2/3 to 3/4, thereafter abruptly narrowed to pointed apex, reaching anterior 1/3 of tegumen apically; lateral process arising from about distal 1/4, spinous, basal half slender and curved, distal half greatly expanded elliptically to before apex, expansed part almost straight on dorsal margin, distinctly arched on ventral margin, apically reaching distal 1/6 of valva; basal lobe conic, reaching 2/3 lrngth of saccus. Aedeagus slender, narrowly rounded at apex, slightly longer than valva; cornutus absent.

Female unknown.

Distribution. China (Guangdong).

Etymology. This epithet is derived from the Latin grandis and lobatus, referring to the large lobate process of the costa.
