Material.— Of 10 specimens, NMV P309634 About NMV is figured .

Remarks.—This species usually exhibits a elongate outline, much longer than wide. The ventral beak is strongly incurved posteriorly. The dorsal interior is characterized by a pair of elongate but extremely narrow, highly raised ventral adductor scars that form an angle of less than 30 °. Spinomarginifera jiaozishanensis Liao, 1980b can be differentiated from S. lopingensis by its more circular profile and deeper, broader ventral median sulcus. S. plena Liao, 1987 also from the Wuchiapingian of South China differs from S. lopingensis in possessing a more rounded ventral umbo and broader ears.
