Diagnosis. The following combination is diagnostic for males: clypeus with yellow marking; the male processes of S4 elongate, apex truncate, approximately parallel-sided in profile and processes of S2 and S3 poorly developed to absent. The male is very similar to C. rozeni Packer. n. sp., but with the processes of S2 and S3 much reduced, especially those of S2, sometimes absent or at most represented by weak bumps. It also differs in the apicolateral fovea of S6 with outer carina complete and carina absent around hair fringe.
Description. Male: Length 6.0 mm; forewing length 4.3mm, head width 1.5 mm. Head: about 1.15 X as long as wide, 82:74. Yellow on lower paraocular area ending just above dorsal margin of clypeus. Supraclypeal area punctures dense laterally, mostly i<0.5 d, medially i=1–2 d. Malar space more than half as long as wide (7.5:11); lower ocular tangent near middle of clypeus; longest hairs on face 2.5 MOD above antennal sockets; genal beard with longest hairs <3.5 MOD. F1 shorter than F2 on anterior surface, 10.5:12, equally long on posterior surface, 12:12; F2 with one seta attaining apex of F3, a second 3/4 as long; F3 with one seta 3/4 as long as F4, a second half as long; F4 with two setae half as long as F5.
Mesosoma: pronotum densely punctate; mesoscutum somewhat dull, densely punctate, mostly i=1d, rarely i=2d; mesoscutellum slightly shinier, less regularly punctate, i=0.5–2 d; metanotum shallowly imbricate, shiny, punctures almost crowded anteriorly, posteriorly, i=1–2 d; mesepisternum distinctly punctate, i=0.5–2.5 d, with scattered minute punctures; metepisternum longitudinally striate with scattered shallow punctures above, irregularly imbricate and impunctate below. Metapostnotum shorter than mesoscutellum (16:18); finely striate, striae rarely interrupted or branched; lateral surface of propodeum coarsely imbricate with numerous weak punctures. Longest hairs of mesosoma 2.5 MOD, on mesepisternum; longest hairs on mesoscutum ~1.7MOD. Stigma shorter than marginal cell on wing margin (30:44), marginal cell quite abruptly curved away from wing margin at apex; distal stigmal perpendicular slightly apical to first submarginal crossvein. Metafemur with posteroventral margin sharp edged for apical half. Metatibia less than 4 X as long as greatest depth (55:15), which is at peak of anterior ridge as well as at apex of tooth on inner crest; subapical brush incomplete; bare area of ventral surface shining, without microsculpture; posterior crest almost straight, ending in an acute tooth; anterior crest convex basally, weakly sinuate apically. Metabasitarsus much shorter than remaining tarsomeres combined (35:47); ventral process at basal 1/5, short; anterior process at midlength, short, apex obtuse.
Metasoma: somewhat shiny, apical impressed areas weakly imbricate; doubly punctate, with scattered minute punctures, large punctures irregularly spaced, i=1–4 d, apical impressed areas finely punctate to close to apex, i=1– 3 d; apicolateral patches of white, plumose hairs on T1–T2, weak on T3. S1 hairs all long, ~2 MOD; S2 longest hairs anterolaterally, 2 MOD; S3 sparse long hairs apicolaterally <1.5 MOD; S4 longest hairs anterolaterally, ~3 MOD; S5 long hairs posterolaterally, 3 MOD, apical fringe of robust setae absent; S6 hair tuft ~1.5 MOD. S2 and S3 with weak sublateral bosses, on S3 at most 135°; processes of S4 moderately long, <2.5 MOD, apex truncate, ventral surface straight, ending in acute point; S5 unmodified; S6 apicolateral fovea 3X longer than wide, mesal margin slightly raised, otherwise surface of disc flat; apical impressed area distinct, membranous, ~1 MOD, hair fringe subequal in length and at ~30° to apical impressed area.
Terminalia : refer to Figs. 45–47 View FIGURES 43–47 .
Female: unknown.
Material studied. Holotype male and eight male paratypes, BOLIVIA, La Paz, 6.ii.1972, G.E. Bohart, LOGAN, except one paratype at PCYU [See Figs. 184–185 View FIGURES 184–185 for distribution map].
Etymology. This species is named in honour of the collector of the type series, G.E. Bohart.
Comments. Three additional specimens appear to be of this species but the males have the processes on S3 acute as in C. rozeni . Their data are: ARGENTINA, Salta, El Alisal, xii.1993, M.Fritz, one male [AMNH]; same data except iii.1993, one male, one female [AMNH]. They come from over 1000km from the type locality and are labeled C. boharti ?
