Frons brown except anterior margin yellow, as long as wide and parallel-sided; ocellar triangle blackish brown, ocellar setae stubby, almost 2 times longer than anterior fronto-orbital setae, anterior fronto-orbital setae reclinate, almost as long as 1/2 length of posterior fronto-orbital setae. Gena about 1/6 height of eye. Antenna brownish yellow, first flagellomere 1.6 times longer than high; arista blackish brown except paler basally, pubescent with longest setulae slightly shorter than 1/2 height of first flagellomere. Proboscis blackish brown, with white and black setulae; palpus black with black setulae.
Thorax ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 61–65 ) blackish brown, with grayish white pruinescence. 0+3 dorsocentral setae; acrostichal setulae in six irregular rows, with a pair of strong acrostichal setulae, longer than first post-sutural dorsocentral setae; a pair of strong prescutellar setae, longer than first post-sutural dorsocentral setae and strong acrostichal setulae. One anepisternal seta, two katepisternal setae. Legs blackish brown, fore tarsi brownish yellow, mid and hind tarsomeres yellow. Fore femur with seven posterior dorsal setae, seven posterior setae and seven posterior ventral setae; fore tibia with one dorsal preapical seta and one strong apical ventral seta. Mid femur with five anterior setae; mid tibia with one strong dorsal preapical seta and one strong apical ventral seta. Hind femur with one preapical anterior dorsal seta; hind tibia with one dorsal preapical seta. Wing ( Fig. 62 View FIGURES 61–65 ) hyaline and yellow at base, part of wing veins brown; costa with 2nd (between R 1 and R 2+3), 3rd (between R 2+3 and R 4+5), and 4th (between R 4+5 and M 1) sections in proportion of 14.9: 4.3: 2.6; r-m beyond middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 11.1: 5.1; ultimate section of CuA 1 about 1/5 of penultimate. Haltere pale yellow, except knob blackish brown.
Abdomen( Fig.65 View FIGURES 61–65 )blackish brown, with grayish white pruinescence.Male genitalia( Figs.66–70 View FIGURES 66–70 ):syntergosternite circular, with one membranous anterior dorsal process and one irregular membranous ventral process. Epandrium broad; surstylus cylindrical, separated from epandrium, hooked apically in lateral view; hypandrium with a pair of small inner processes. Postgonite shorter, nearly conical. Phallapodeme stubby, almost as long as 1/2 length of phallus; phallus without concavity apically, with many acute processes on both sides in ventral view, with one arcshaped depression in lateral view and one acute process on apical 1/3 of ventral side.
Type material. Holotype ( CAUC): ♁, CHINA, Yunnan Province: Hekou Jinping Yakou, 2006. VI. 18, Junhua Zhang . Paratypes ( CAUC): 1 ♁, 2 ♀♀, data same as holotype .
Distribution. China (Yunnan)
Remarks. The new species is somewhat similar to Minettia (Plesiominettia) omei Shatalkin from Oriental region and Palearctic region, but it can be separated from the latter in the frons without longitudinal stripe; phallus with one median elongate oval sclerotized structure inside; dorsum of phallus without spiny process in lateral view. In Minettia (Plesiominettia) omei Shatalkin , frons with a pair of yellow longitudinal stripes; phallus without sclerotized structure inside; dorsum of phallus with one spiny process in lateral view.
Etymology. Latin, medio-, meaning median + clavata, meaning clavate, referring to phallus with one median elongate oval sclerotized structure.
