Summary. Ammophila apicalis var. turkestana Kohl, 1906 is raised to full species status, with designation of the lectotype. A. turkestana Kohl , stat. n. is redescribed,

illustrated, and newly recorded from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
