Remarks. This species was identified from the rivers of southern Russia and is distributed in Caspian Sea basins. Therefore, Afghanistan is not included in the natural distribution range of the species. First recorded from adjacent areas of Afghanistan by Berg (1948 – 1949) as Chalcarburnus chalcoides .
