Material. 1 ovigerous female, 20.2 x 17.8 mm, 200–300 m, 28 Nov 2001, ZRC 2001.970 View Materials ; 1 male , 15.2 x 13.2 mm, 1 ovigerous female, 19.8 x 18.0 mm, 200–300 m, 25–30 Jul 2003, ZRC 2003.675 View Materials ; 2 males , 23.3 x 20.3 mm, 24.5 x 19.7 mm, 200–300 m, Feb 2004, ZRC . All locations in Balicasag Island , Panglao, Bohol, Visayas, Philippines; purchased from local shell fishermen, obtained by tangle nets .

Remarks. A distinctive feature of Takedromia cristatipes is the continuous, flared rostral margin. The carapace is covered with fine granules and sparse tufts of long plumose setae. This species is not known to carry pieces of camouflage. One ovigerous female (20.2 x 17.8 mm) carried about 100 eggs measuring 0.8 mm in diameter while another (19.8 x 18.0 mm) had about 480 eggs of 0.65 mm diameter. This egg size indicates that T. cristatipes has abbreviated larval development. Previous depth records give a range of 48 to 430 m. McLay (2001a: 845) erroneously reported that a male specimen (ZRC 2000.0755) from Guam had been collected from a shallow depth by a diver. In fact the specimen, which was originally passed to the second author by its collector, came from a crab trap at around 300– 400 m. The known depth range for T. cristatipes is 50– 430m. This species was previously reported from Mindanao Island by McLay (2001a).

Distribution. T. cristatipes is known from Japan, Guam Island, Philippines and New Caledonia.
