Type Locality. Korup National Park (N4°57’20.8” E8°49’36.8”), Southwest Province, Cameroon.
Diagnosis. Head prothorax and scutellum olive green; face a light yellow green; basal ¼ of forewing dark brown; only apical cells of forewing darkly pigmented; legs black.
Description. Head ( Figs 15–19 View FIGURES 15 – 19 ): face light yellow-green; eyes dark ochre; antennal pedicel slightly spool shaped, with rings of lighter coloration at each end; vertex lightly punctate, lacking median carina. Thorax ( Figs 15, 18–21 View FIGURES 15 – 19 View FIGURES 20 – 21 ): body olive green; legs ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 15 – 19 ) dark brown to black; tegmen ( Figs 18–21 View FIGURES 15 – 19 View FIGURES 20 – 21 ) with basal ¼ dark brown, becoming hyaline in apical ¾; veins weakly pigmented, with apical cells having dark veins; clavus with anal veins connected by one crossvein. Genitalia: Male: Pygofer (Figs 22–23) heavily sclerotized, dorso-posterior scabrous area expanded into a toothed, spine-like process extending downward; subgenital plates (Figs 22–23) with rounded apex; aedeagus (Figs 24–25) cylindrical, lightly scaled, apex flat and blade-like; parameres (Figs 26–28) small, subtriangular in lateral view with long styli, apex with short setae. Female: unknown.
Measurements (mm). Body length: male 5.3; pronotal length: male 1.4; forewing length: male 4.6; maximum width of head, including eyes: male 1.68; width between humeral angles: male 2.2.
Distribution. CAMEROON: Southwest Province.
Remarks. Labramachaerota korupa represents one of the few species of Machaerotidae known from western Africa. The previously described West African machaerotid fauna included only Enderleinia spp.; morphologically, Labramachaerota differs greatly from Enderleinia .
Etymology. The species name “ korupa ” refers to Korup National Park, the type locality of the holotype.
