Type Material. Holotype: male with three labels: “AZ: GRAHAM CO.\ Galiuro Mts. \ High Cr. 1660M\ vii-20-78 at\ light S.McCleve ”; [red OSAC barcode label, barcode and identification number 0000529577 on top, “ Oregon State \ University\ OSAC ” on bottom]; “ HOLOTYPE Madreallecula mcclevei Kojun Kanda ” [red paper, taxonomic name written by hand] . Paratypes: one specimen, male labeled “AZ: GRAHAM CO.\ Galiuro Mts.\ High Cr. 1660M\ vii-20-78 at\ light S.McCleve ”. One specimen, female labeled “AZ: COCHISE CO.\ Dragoon Mts. \Sorin Cn 1926m. vii-23, 24-79 at\ light S.McCleve ”. One specimen, male labeled “AZ: Santa Cruz Co. \ Coronado N. F., Santa\ Rita Mtns, Madera\ Cyn., 12-13-VIII-1987 \ C. B.& J. E. Barr, MV /BL”. All paratypes with a second label, “ PARA- TYPE Madreallecula mcclevei Kojun Kanda ” [yellow paper, taxonomic name written by hand] .

The specimens are deposited in the following collections: holotype in the Oregon State Arthropod Collection ( OSAC _0000529577), two paratypes collected by S. McCleve in the University of Arizona Insect Collection, the paratype collected by C. B. and J. E. Barr in the collection of R. L. Aalbu .

Description of Holotype. Male. Length from anterior margin of pronotum to apex of elytra: 6.8 mm; width of posterior margin of pronotum: 2.5 mm. Integument rufo-testaceous, polished. Body clothed in semi-erect, golden setae. Head: Small, at widest half the width of basal margin of pronotum. Dorsal surface sparsely covered in shallow setate punctures. Ventral surface of head much less hirsute and punctate than dorsal surface. Gula smooth, impunctate. Eyes prominent, separated dorsally by 1/2 the width of one eye. Frontoclypeal suture complete. Antennae with terminal 8 segments moniliform, 3 rd antennomere as long as scape and pedicel combined, 4 th and 11 th antennomere slightly longer than wide, width of antennomeres 5 to 10 equal to or slightly greater than length ( Fig. 3 View Figs ). Terminal segment of maxillary palpi large, broadly triangular. Thorax: Pronotum convex anteriorly and flat posteriorly, posterior margin slightly produced medially, anterior margin rounded. Posterior angles obtuse and rounded. Dorsal surface of pronotum coarsely punctate, ventral surface slightly rugose. Prosternum flat, declivous. Distance between anterior margin of procoxal cavity and anterior margin of prosternum shorter than length of prosternal process. Mesosternum with slight keel antero-medially, coarsely punctate. Mesepisternum smooth towards medial line of body. Metasternum coarsely punctate, more densely punctate medially. Metepisternum coarsely punctate. Legs: Femora barely extending beyond lateral margin of elytra when held perpendicular to midline of body. Pro- and mesotarsi with membranous lobes on penultimate and antepenultimate tarsomeres. Metatarsi with membranous lobe on penultimate tarsomere only. Protarsal claws with 11 teeth, mesotarsal claws with 10 teeth, and metatarsal claws with 8 teeth. Elytra: Distinctly striate, strial punctures becoming shallower distally. Epipleura slightly tuberculate. Genitalia: Aedeagus elongate with parameres narrow, slightly acuminate and apically rounded, without setae, about 1/4 the length of the phallobase ( Fig. 6 View Fig ).

Variation. No external morphological differences are apparent between the male and female specimens. Length from anterior margin of pronotum to apex of elytra is 6.1–6.9 mm, and width of posterior margin of pronotum is 2.4–2.6 mm. Mesotarsal claws have 10–11 teeth, metatarsal claws have 8–9 teeth.

Distribution. All known specimens were collected in the Madrean Sky Islands in Southeast Arizona. The species is known to occur specifically in the Galiuro, Dragoon, and Santa Rita mountains ( Fig. 7 View Fig ).

Etymology. This species is named in honor of Scott McCleve who collected the holotype and two of the paratypes of this species.

The following modification to key AA of Aalbu et al. (2002) will accommodate Madreallecula :
