Distribution. Colombia.
Aubé (1844: 115) described this species from Colombia, but L. W. Schaufuss (1887: 120) listed it as from Brazil. Several authorse listed it from or outside Colombia ( Blackwelder 1944: 94; Park 1942: 141; Raffray 1904b: 235; Raffray 1908a: 238; Raffray 1911: 100) or from Rio de Janeiro (C. Schaufuss 1888: 31). Newton et al. (2005: 39) indicated that the inclusion of this species in Brazil is in error.
