Distribution. Colombia.

This species was described from “Nova-Granata[ Nueva Granada, actually territory of Colombia], ad flumen, Rio Madalena [Rio Magdalena]”. Later, H. Franz (1980b: 160) by mistake attributed this spe- cies to Brazil.

Distribution. Venezuela.

Species described by H. Franz (1988: 70) from “El limón” [10.300000, -67.633333] in Venezuela. Later, O’Keefe (2000b: 63), by mistake attributed this locality to Brazil.

Hamotus centralis Reitter 1888: 229 (Pselaphinae) View in CoL

Distribution. Guatemala.

Reitter (1888: 229) described this species from Guatemala in Central America, together with many species from Blumenau in Brazil. Subsequent authors cited Blumenau ( Park 1942: 330; Raffray 1905: 437; Raffray 1908a: 400) or simply Brazil ( Blackwelder 1944: 96; Park 1942: 315, 323; Raffray 1911: 167). Therefore, Brazil should not be considered as part of the distribution of this species.

Raffray (1897: 252) described this species from “ Amazones. Cavallo Cocho [Caballo Cocha in -3.910789, -70.516081]” collected by Marc de Mathan in his first expedition to Amazon region of Peru between 1879 to 1889 ( Lamas 1980: 27). Subsequently, other authors attributed this record to Brazil ( Park 1942: 210; Raffray 1897: 253; Raffray 1904b: 107; Raffray 1908a: 189) or the Amazon region of Brazil ( Comellini 1983: 441; Raffray 1897: 252; Raffray 1911: 77).

Distribution. Ecuador, Peru.

Raffray (1897: 253) described this species from “ Amazones, Iquitos”, which refers to a city that is on the Amazon River but in Peru. Subsequent references been cited as Iquitos ( Park 1942: 210; Raffray 1897: 253; Raffray 1904b: 107; Raffray 1908a: 190) or simply referred to as Amazones ( Raffray 1911: 77). This has been refer to Brazil, but all documented records have been from Peru and Ecuador ( Comellini 1983: 455).

Irmler (1981a: 145) described this species from “ Peru: Pucalpa”, Pucalpa is the capital of Ucayali state in Peru, and subsequently for mistake Herman (2001c: 1183) cited erroneously it for Brazil.
