Holotype. ♂, Bambarde , Dodamarg Taluka, Sindhudurg District, Maharashtra, India (15.91917 N, 74.12139 E, alt. 89 m asl), 8.vi.2023, Akshay Dalvi leg. GoogleMaps
Paratype. ♀, the location, date of collection, and collector is the same as for the holotype.
Etymology. The species name is derived from the freshwater sacred groove (Kannhalachi Devrai). It is the only Myristica swamp in Maharashtra, located in the Bambarde village, Dodamarg taluka, Sindhudurg District. The specific epithet is derived from the combination of two words ‘Kannha’ and ‘Rai’.
