Type locality: Kuril Islands , Kunashir Is, near Alekhino .

Short description (from original description). General coloration dark brown. Head. Vertex greyish.

Thorax. Without distinct marking. Wing tinged with dark brown, stigma pale brown. Legs with coxa, trochanters and bases of femora dusky yellow. Halter long, pale yellow.

Abdomen. Sternites dirty yellow; male tergite 8 with long rectangular lobe at middle of posterior margin. Male terminalia with gonocoxite bearing three lobes dorsally; each tip of these lobes with tufts of long setae. Outer gonstylus rod-shaped with small claw-shaped lobe at tip. Paramere with mesal-apical lobe blade-shaped, truncated obliquely at tip, about twice as long as wide. Male body length: 5.5 mm. Wing length: 6.0 mm.

Distribution. Kuril Islands (Kunashir Is) ( Fig. 13F View FIGURE 13 ).

Remarks. See remarks in E. tergilobellus sp. nov. for comparison to similar species.
