Crassocoris Bai, Heiss & Cai, 2007

Type species. Crassocoris hsiaoi Bai, Heiss & Cai, 2007 (by original designation).

Revised diagnosis. Apterous, medium sized; body elongate ovate; coloration uniformly dark reddish to blackish brown, glabrous, lateral margins, legs and antennae with setigerous tubercles. Thoracic segments fused to mtg I+II, a median longitudinal ridge along meso- and metanotum is followed by a depression on fused mtg I+II flanked by a pair of transverse ridges on mtg I; spiracles II–IV ventral, V–VII lateral and visible from above.

Crassocoris resembles Morphocoris Kormilev, 1980 ( Fig. 23 ) and Paramorphocoris Bai & Heiss, 2015 ( Figs. 18–22 ) in general body plan, structure of fused thoracic segments with a median ridge and shares the position of spiracles. However, the pronotum is subrectangular, anterolateral angles not protruding (vs. pronotum attenuated anteriorly, anterolateral angles produced forward beyond collar in Morphocoris and Paramorphocoris ); median ridge of mesonotum with a longitudinal sulcus (vs. median ridge of mesonotum without longitudinal sulcus in Morphocoris ). The median depression on mtg I+II is shallow and widening posteriorly with an inverted Y-shaped carina (vs. deeply excavated in Morphocoris and narrow with a longitudinal carina in Paramorphocoris ).
