TYPE LOCALITY: Benin, Atlantique, Abomey-Calavi [“Bénin ... Colavi [sic!], Sweepaetting [sic!], XII.2003 ... leg. G. Goergen ”] .

TYPE SPECIMEN: Holotype ♁, by original designation, deposited in SMNHTAU .

CURRENT STATUS: Pales pauciseta ( Mesnil, 1950) [teste this work].

FAMILY: Tachinidae .

REMARKS: Holotype in fair condition but somewhat greasy and with wings partly damaged. It is direct-pinned, with terminalia dissected and kept in a vial with glycerin on same pin. This is the first record of Pales from Benin ( O’Hara & Cerretti 2016).
