Colour yellowish to brown; prodorsum with one pair of long and strong lateral carinae; sensilla bacilliform without head, covered with small spines distally; prodorsal setae robust, rigid and barbed in distal half, except exobothridial setae; notogastral setae fairly short, similar in shape to lamellar setae; vestigial setae f 1 situated ventrad to setae h 1; 9 pairs of minute genital setae present, including 1 pair of setae inserted on progenital area; 2 pairs of aggenital setae located longitudinally; tarsi of legs I bidactylous, tarsi II–IV heterotridactylous.

Material examined. China: Tibet: 34 adults (in alcohol, CJ-01-49), Bome, Songzong, 3400 m a.s.l., from litter under pine tree, 22 Aug. 2001, leg. Jun Chen; 7 adults (in alcohol, CJ-01-50), from moss, other data same as CJ-01- 49; 3 adults (in alcohol, CJ-01-58), Bome, Zhamu, 2900 m a.s.l., from litter under shrub, 23 Aug. 2001; 6 adults (in alcohol, CJ-01-59), from trunk, other data same as CJ-01-58; 5 adults (in alcohol, CJ-01-60), same data as CJ-01- 59; 2 adults (in alcohol, CJ-01-64), Bome, Tongmai, from litter under shrub, 24 Aug. 2001, leg. Jun Chen; 2 adults (in alcohol, CJ-01-98), Nyalam, Zhangmu, State Road 318, 2670 m a.s.l., from litter under shrub, 3 Sep. 2001, leg. Jun Chen. (Newly recorded species from China).

Remarks. Compared with holotype, the specimens from Tibet have longer lamellar setae. This species is mainly distinguished from A. ardua by the shape of sensilla (bacilliform without head versus with swollen head in A. ardua ).
