Colour yellowish; prodorsum with one pair of long and strong lateral carinae; sensilla setiform, slightly swollen at distal end and covered with small spines; prodorsal and notogastral setae robust, rigid and sparsely barbed in distal half, except exobothridial setae; vestigial setae f 1 not observed; 9 or 10 pairs of genital setae present, including 1 pair of setae inserted on progenital area; 2 pairs of aggenital setae located longitudinally; tarsi of legs monodactylous.

Remarks. This species is mainly distinguished from Acrotritia sinensis Jacot, 1923 by the shape of sensilla (setiform and slightly swollen at distal end in A. simile versus with fusiform head in A. sinensis ).
