Shuonan Qian and Ga-Eun Lee, genitalia slide no. LGE17260 GoogleMaps .
Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 11D View FIGURE 11 ). Wingspan 8.5−12.0 mm. Thiotricha microrrhoda is somewhat similar to T. rhodomicta in having the forewing strongly speckled with dark brown. However, T. microrrhoda is differentiated from the latter by the presence of a longitudinal streak below the costa. The male genitalia ( Fig. 36A View FIGURE 36 ) are distinctive as the ventral margin of valva is convex at middle and before apex, and the anellus lobe is robust and strongly curved. The female genitalia ( Fig. 52D View FIGURE 52 ) can be easily distinguished from other species by the melanized papillae anales, the ostium bursae situated near the anterior margin of sternum VIII and the very narrowed base of ductus bursae. The colliculum or the antrum is absent in this species.
Variation. The female specimen from Zhejiang Province has more yellowish forewing scattered with carmine-pink scales whereas the specimens from Taiwan have a whiter forewing without pink scales except on the termen. Non-type specimens have apophyses anteriores slightly narrower than those of the holotype, but other morphological characters match the type specimen.
Distribution. China (Hainan, Taiwan, Zhejiang).
