Erythroneura (Balila) japonica Dworakowska, 1972: 865 View in CoL
Description. Body slender. Dorsum pale yellow. Vertex comparatively long, without spot. Frontoclypeus and anteclypeus milky yellow. Lorum whitish yellow. Pronotum and scutellum milky yellow. Forewing transparent whitish yellow and usually with three pale red spots ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ). Sometimes forewing with 4-6 red spots depending on geographical region. Legs pale yellow, without pattern.
Male abdominal apodemes narrow and extended to half of sternite IV ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 13 – 19 ).
Male genitalia. Pygofer lobe with 2 macrosetae at basal lower angle, ventral appendage slender, elongated well beyond caudal margin of pygofer lobe ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 13 – 19 ), dorsal appendage falcate. Subgenital plate with 3 macrosetae at middle part and several stout setae in row ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 13 – 19 ). Style plump near middle, apex with 2 points ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 13 – 19 ). Aedeagus shaft broad in ventral view with pair of branched processes subapically extending basally ( Fig.13 View FIGURES 13 – 19 ), shaft thin and arched dorsad in lateral view ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 13 – 19 ); preatrium absent. Connective with stem reduced, not distinct ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 13 – 19 ).
Measurements. Body length males 2.1–2.4 mm, females 2.3– 2.5mm.
