Ctenus serratipes F.O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1897: 87 View in CoL , pl. 3, figs VI.c and VII.d ( male holotype from Demerara, 6° 48'N, 58° 10'W, Demerara-Mahaica region, Guyana, deposited in BMNH, examined GoogleMaps ).

Ctenus fulvipes Caporiacco, 1947: 27 View in CoL (male holotype from Great Falls, Demerara, 6° 48'N, 58° 10'W, Guyana, X.1931, Beccari & Romiti col., deposited in MZS, examined); Caporiacco 1948: 679, figs 98 – 99. New synonymy.

Ctenus scenicus Caporiacco, 1947: 28 View in CoL (penultimate instar female syntype from Essequibo River, 6° 31'N, 58° 19'W, Essequibo Islands, West Demerara Region, Guyana and penultimate instar female syntype from Potaro River, Guyana, Beccari & Romiti col., deposited in MZS, examined); Caporiacco 1948: 680, fig. 100. New synonymy.

Ctenus itatiayaeformis Caporiacco, 1955: 394 View in CoL (penultimate instar female holotype from Caracas, 10° 30'N, 66° 55'W, Venezuela, 15.I.1950, Foldats col., deposited in MUCV 806, examined). New synonymy.

Diagnosis. Males of Ctenus serratipes resemble those of C. paubrasil ( Brescovit & Simó 2007: figs 31–32) by the shape of the laminar basal projection of the embolus, but can be distinguished by the thin retrolateral tibial apophysis, absence of tegular projection ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4 A–B) and metatarsus IV modified ( Figs 5 View FIGURE 5 A–C). Females resemble those of Ctenus paubrasil ( Brescovit & Simó 2007: figs 33–34) by the elongated anterior area of the epigynal median sector, but can be distinguished by the larger epigynal ovoid lobes and the shape of the lateral sector processes ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 C).
