Diagnosis. Male. Specimens small to medium and slender (5.5–9.7 mm long and 1.1–2.1 mm wide) (Figs 9, 10); head triangular, outline of posterior margin of head strongly convex with rounded contours in dorsal view (see Fig. 2 in Casal, 1964); mandible with almost parallel margins from the base to the apex, distinctly tridentate apically (Fig. 13), inner face of mandible with a short oblique keel that joins with base of the robust ventral tooth; antennal tubercles with sharp projections (see Fig. 5 in Casal, 1964).
Description. Casal (1964) described and illustrated this species in detail; we only add images of the dorsal and lateral habitus and mandible to facilitate identification.
Female. Unknown.
Type material. Holotype male (not examined). ARGENTINA: Río Negro, Fuerte General Roca , I/1962, A. Bachmann.

Distribution. ARGENTINA: Catamarca, Chubut, La Rioja, Mendoza, Neuquén, Río Negro, Salta, San Juan, Tucumán (new record; Cambra et al., 2016 places Cafayate in Tucumán but it’s located in Salta). Host. Unknown.
